Square Dance is an experimental animated short exploring the "grid" governing life, from cityscapes to classrooms. Through rhythmic Chinese dance, it depicts rebellion against structure, transforming into a vibrant symphony of nature, tradition, and creativity. Celebrating free expression, it symbolizes the human spirit’s triumph over conformity.
We decided to experiment with light painting, as it is a very fluid and dynamic medium. I was directing the light painting.
Final Animation

The film has gained recognition as well, with two nominations in film festivals.
This was an outcome of an online exchange which took place between NID AP and KHM Germany. There were schools from around the globe who took part in this.
The theme given to us was 'The Martian Chronicles', a novel by Ray Bradbury. We had to design and develop an audio based on this theme.
The audios made by all the schools were then interchanged between the schools and had to make an animation based on the audio received by another school.
Special thanks to Prof. Sekhar Mukherjee and Prof. Isabel Herguera for making this online exchange possible.
